Mulling over

I'm not sure exactly how this applies to us yet, but this verse jumped out at me so strongly this morning that I'm not sure what to think about it. I was reading Psalm 127. You can look up the whole thing - it's short, and it's familiar. It is the one that talkes about laboring in vain unless the Lord builds the house, and the end talks about children being a blessing. But, the second verse I don't remember ever reading! Isn't that weird feeling? Anyway, here it is: "It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep." Like I said, that verse just jumped off the page at me! I'm sure it relates to my hubby's job - the job where he gets yelled at from the moment he arrives until the moment he leaves. The job where he is given a goal at the beginning of the day, and when he meets or exceeds it he's never given positive affirmation but is chewed out for not doing even more. At first glance, I laughingly said, "Hey! Doug can quit his job!" But, I really don't think that's what God's saying. I'm still praying and thinking over exactly how this fits us, but I know it's for us somehow because of how it stuck out to me and has stuck with me. I'm excited to see how He uses this verse, and I'll keep you posted!
